Company Mission to Shanghai
At the beginning of November, 14 Swedish SMEs will participate in a Company Mission to Shanghai in China to experience what the ever-growing Chinese consumer market has to offer.
The Company Mission is part of the programme “China Market Entry” financed by the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth, put together by the Enterprise Europe Network office at Dalarna Science Park and the founder of Shanghai-based Scandic Sourcing, Per Lindén.
The group of SME’s accompanying the Company Mission all have their production in different parts of Sweden. Their products range from health supplements to interior design items, food- and drink products and performance acts. The China market entry-programme aims to “lower the thresholds” and “smooth the path” for these outward-looking SME’s to minimise risk and maximise the potential of making the right strategic decisions.
Some of the companies already participated in previous versions of the programme and are now closing the deal with Chinese business partners.
In Shanghai, there will be training sessions on the topic of Chinese business ethics, Chinese KOL-marketing, a business matchmaking-session co-arranged with the EEN office at Shanghai Technology Innovation Centre in Shanghai and study visits to relevant enterprises. There will also be time to visit the 2nd China International Import Expo (CIIE 2019), the largest import fair in China.
The companies will also have the opportunity to exhibit their products at the permanent Showroom Nordic Hub China, situated in the Shanghai Hongqiao World Center where the CIIE 2019 fair can be visited.
On their return, the companies will have a unique experience from the business world of China as well as a new network of business contacts to make use of in their future market strategies. Of course, the EEN office at Dalarna Science Park will continue to support the SME’s when it comes to follow up new Chinese contacts or offers and be at hand if they need support with negotiating any agreements.
We at Enterprise Europe Network in Dalarna & Gävleborg, really believe that minimising the risks and letting SME’s from Sweden experience the Chinese business culture firsthand, will contribute to the internationalisation and growth of participating companies and ultimately strengthen the position of Sweden as a brand.
