New paths towards a resilient future

March 20, 2026, at 8:45 a.m. - at 1:00 p.m. Dalarna Science Park, Borlänge

When yesterday's economy cannot solve tomorrow's problems

How can we create a Dalarna that remains strong even when conditions change? This is the starting point for an innovative morning event where, together with EY, we invite you to join us for discussions, experiences, and joint exploration of the economy of the future. Sometimes we need to pause, reflect, and perhaps dare to rethink how our fundamental systems actually work.

On March 20, Dalarna Science Park and EY will bring together stakeholders from politics, business, the public sector, academia, civil society, and students for a half-day event focusing on the economy and resilience of the future. With Dalarna as our context, we will explore new ways of thinking about value creation, decision-making, and development within the limits of the planet.

A central part of the day is Dear Economy, a powerful and thought-provoking experience developed by EY's futures lab SALLY. Dear Economy combines speculative storytelling with an interactive workshop where we jointly develop experiments that challenge today's economic assumptions and prototype new alternative solutions.

With these insights as a foundation, we are continuing to work in cross-functional groups to develop concrete experiments that can strengthen our resilience and innovative capacity. The results will be taken further and shared in relevant contexts, including at Sweden's Innovation Parliament in May and in the ongoing work ahead of Dalarna Innovation Days in October. The foresight work and dialogue will also continue just over a week later at Dalating, theannual conference on the development of Dalarna.

The Dalarna Strategy sets a clear direction towards a sustainable and competitive Dalarna. Dalarna Science Park's role is to bring together different perspectives and connect stakeholders to form new collaborations. As a neutral arena, we work to inspire increased innovation in the region.

Dear Economy has previously been experienced by hundreds of decision-makers across the Nordic region. Now there is an opportunity to explore the experience together, here in Dalarna.
