Dalarna Science Park is pleased to announce that Henrik Navjord, CEO of Fastighets AB Hushagen, has been appointed new Chairman of the Board. With his broad experience from the business world and a strong commitment to regional development, Henrik will strengthen the continued board work.

Henrik Navjord holds a degree in economics and has a background in the banking sector with a focus on business advice and financing. Most recently, Henrik was Regional Manager for Dalarna within the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise, where he worked to strengthen the business climate in Dalarna. He is now CEO of Fastighets AB Hushagen.

- "I look forward to contributing to Dalarna Science Park's continued development and strengthening the region's position as a leading innovation environment. We have fantastic opportunities to create more collaborations, attract new companies and support entrepreneurs throughout Dalarna," says Henrik Navjord.

Building on a strong foundation

Dalarna Science Park has its roots in the steel crisis of the 1980s, when a joint effort between industry, academia and the public sector led to the creation of the Teknikdalen Foundation - the forerunner of today's activities. The original founders, including SSAB, Stora Enso, the Swedish Transport Administration, Borlänge Municipality and Swedbank, represent the board together with Dalarna University, Falu and Mora municipalities.

- "It is unique and extremely valuable that we have such broad expertise on our board, which is also both long-term and committed. It gives us stability and a strong connection to industry, academia and social development," says Angelica Ekholm, CEO of Dalarna Science Park.

Looking ahead - boosting innovation and sustainable industry

With a new chairman and a clear strategy for the future, Dalarna Science Park is now taking the next step in strengthening its relationship with the whole of Dalarna.

- Angelica and I will continuously ensure that we are in contact with Dalarna's municipalities for a dialog about Dalarna's development and needs," says Henrik Navjord,

The Board's overall ambition for Dalarna Science Park is also to consolidate Dalarna's position as a leading region for sustainable innovation and entrepreneurship.

- We see great opportunities to accelerate the green transition and strengthen our role as an engine for sustainable industry. Our Circular Industry Accelerator and collaborations with, among others, Dalarna University and the region's major industries create a platform for real change," says Angelica Ekholm.

In 2025, Dalarna Science Park will also launch more initiatives in areas important to Dalarna's development in digitalization, sustainability and skills supply to attract both new companies and talent to the region.

- Dalarna has everything it takes to become a national role model in innovation and sustainable development. We have already shown what we are capable of, and now we are shifting up a gear. 2025 will be the year when we put Dalarna on the map as Sweden's next growth region," concludes Angelica Ekholm.
