The green transition and the complex challenges we face require both creativity and courage.
- Plus cooperation! One idea or one actor cannot fix everything, we need many ideas and we need to help and learn from each other. We hope that Dalarna Innovation Days will contribute to this development," says Angelica Ekholm, CEO of Dalarna Science Park.
Dalarna Innovation Days is a brand new initiative from Dalarna Science Park in collaboration with Sparbanksstiftelsen Dalarna, Dalarnas energibolag, Clas Ohlson Foundation, Business News Dalarna and Dalarna University.
The first round will take place on October 17-20, after which the plan is to make the event an annual event.
- It is in the meeting between people that exciting things happen and during Dalarna Innovation Days we create the conditions for just that," says Angelica Ekholm, who thinks it is high time to broaden perspectives.
- Technological developments are one side of the coin. But to create real change, it is we as individuals who need to use our creativity and see the benefit of working together on difficult and complex challenges.
From current research to mingle
As the innovation arena for the whole of Dalarna, Dalarna Science Park works continuously on development issues where new ideas and innovative companies meet. It inspires through lectures, workshops, development programs and innovation competitions. And Dalarna Science Park's business incubator, the county's only one, brings together start-ups with innovative ideas.
Dalarna Innovation Days 2023 lasts for four days and includes around twenty events in three locations. Several of the events can also be followed digitally.
One of the speakers is US-based innovator and business leader Christina Lampe Önnerud.
- Christina visited us in December and gave a very appreciated lecture on sustainable and safe energy solutions, so we are happy that the "battery queen" is coming back. This time it will be via link from Boston," says Angelica.
Other participants include futurologist Tobias Degsell, AI expert Fredrik Löfgren, researchers from Dalarna University and journalist Maria Soxbo, who focuses on sustainability.
The aim of the days is to promote innovation, entrepreneurship and raise awareness of sustainability.
Angelica describes the program as both moderate and airy.
- The goal is to go home with new knowledge, new ideas and new contacts, so in addition to all the interesting content, there will of course also be time for coffee, mingle and conversation.
