It is now clear that Dalarna Science Park, as one of the first science parks in Sweden, is verified according to ISO 26000. ISO 26000 is a guiding standard for organizations' social responsibility. It takes a holistic approach to sustainability and describes what a company or organization can do to contribute to a sustainable society.
- "By making a self-declaration, consisting of about 50 questions, we at Dalarna Science Park have better insight into our own sustainability work and what improvements we can - and should - make," explains Annelie Strömberg, sustainability strategist and project manager at Dalarna Science Park.
ISO 26000
The work with ISO 26000 means that Dalarna Science Park has now systematized and formalized the sustainability work so that it will not be individually dependent in the future. The work also helps to create a structure for improvement work at a good manageable level where it also becomes easy to keep the right focus in the sustainability work.
- This is just the beginning. We are now continuing to work on a sustainability strategy that will be integrated into the entire business to take us further forward," says Annelie, who was one of those who led the work from Dalarna Science Park.
Pulse measurement
Angelica Ekholm, CEO of Dalarna Science Park, agrees and clarifies how Dalarna Science Park will work going forward and what the importance of verification means.
- For us, verification is an important pulse meter. Since we support companies in their sustainability development, we need to constantly work to ensure that our organization is at the forefront of sustainability work. We must set a good example and work in a structured way with continuous improvements that can also be followed up," says Angelica.
Companies working with Dalarna Science Park will also notice a change.
- By verifying ourselves at Dalarna Science Park, we can work systematized internally while we get important keys to also take out to the companies we work with, concludes Angelica.
