Now we're looking for ideas to improve care

Jacob Ode and Felicia Dakkour

It's time once again for the Dalarna Innovation Days Challenge, a recurring idea competition with different themes from year to year. This year's theme is care and health, and Region Dalarna is hosting the competition. The competition is open to everyone over the age of 18 and the prize pool includes business coaching and SEK 20,000 to develop the idea.

- In addition, we give everyone who submitted competition entries individual feedback on how to move forward with their ideas," says Jacob Ode, Dalarna Science Park.

The aim of this year's Dalarna Innovation Days Challenge is to encourage more innovative ideas that can improve healthcare and people's health to become reality. The competition runs from 1-31 October and is organized by Dalarna Science Park in collaboration with Region Dalarna and where Sparbanksstiftelsen Dalarna is one of the co-financiers.

- "We believe that there are many good ideas that can develop healthcare. Those who work in healthcare see the challenges on a daily basis and there are also many solutions to be found," says Jacob Ode, project manager for the competition, together with his colleague Felicia Dakkour.

Entries will be judged on how well the idea solves a problem or fills a need, how feasible it is, what market potential it has and how it meets the sustainability goals based on the 2030 Agenda.

- The idea doesn't have to be completely new and unique either, it can be to change something for the better or use new methods and approaches," says Felicia Dakkour.

Elin Holst Granlund, Innovation Strategist at Region Dalarna, is looking forward to seeing the competition entries later this fall.

- In addition to the individual feedback that all contestants receive, employees of Region Dalarna can also get the opportunity to further develop their idea through Region Dalarna's Innovation Lock, says Elin.
