Dalarna Science Park's incubator celebrated 20 years of innovation and entrepreneurship

On Thursday, December 12, entrepreneurs, innovators and partners gathered at Dalarna Science Park in Borlänge to celebrate the business incubator's 20th anniversary. It was a day filled with inspiration, looking forward and reflecting on two decades of successful business development.

Since its inception in 2004, the incubator has been a driving force for innovation in Dalarna. During these 20 years, 178 companies have been developed within the incubator, with a total turnover in 2023 of SEK 1.2 billion and around 600 jobs created. The anniversary was a celebration of these successes and the creative spirit that has permeated the business.

The celebration was led by Brita Klingberg and Felicia Dakkour from Dalarna Science Park.

- We want to celebrate the 20 years as a reminder of how important innovation is for sustainable growth in our region. At the same time, we want to highlight the people and companies that have contributed to this development through their commitment, creativity and entrepreneurship. The celebration is also a call to continue to look ahead, dare to think new and invest in the opportunities of the future in the next 20 years," says Brita Klingberg, business coach at Dalarna Science Park.

One of the highlights of the day was an inspiring lecture by Claudia Olsson, CEO of Stellar Capacity AB, who shared her insights on how new technologies are shaping the future of business and society. Current and former incubator companies also presented their journeys from idea to established company, demonstrating the breadth and depth of the innovative power that Dalarna Science Park supports.

- It is amazing to see the difference the incubator has made over these 20 years. We are proud to have contributed to creating sustainable companies that not only make a difference regionally, but also internationally," said Angelica Ekholm, CEO of Dalarna Science Park, in her speech.

The afternoon ended with mingling and networking, where new collaborations were born and old contacts strengthened.
