At the end of October, it is once again time for Dalarna Innovation Days, the event that attracted nearly a thousand participants last year. This year's edition includes several new features aimed at startups, students, tech companies and investors.
- "More and more companies are involved in Dalarna's development and want to contribute to Dalarna Innovation Days, so this year's program is even better than last year's," says Angelica Ekholm, CEO of Dalarna Science Park.
The aim of Dalarna Innovation Days is to promote innovation, entrepreneurship and to increase knowledge about sustainability.
- The green transition and other complex challenges require creativity and courage, but also collaboration. So it's great that people with different professional roles and experiences have the opportunity to come together. And it's particularly inspiring now that several companies have made major investments in Dalarna over the past year," says Angelica Ekholm.
Conversations that lead on
The 2024 edition of Dalarna Innovation Days, the second in the series, will be held October 22-25 in Borlänge, Falun and Leksand. Just like last year, the four-day event offers a mix of lectures, seminars, workshops and mingling. It also includes the Dalarna Innovation Days Challenge, where the first prize will go to the person who presents Dalarna's best healthcare improvement idea.
A sustainable future, living in Dalarna, Science Tasting and Dalarna's digitization power are other topics on the program and among the participants are former Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt, trend spotter Göran Adlén and investor Karin O´Connor, known from the TV show Draknästet. Annie Lööf, former Minister of Trade and Industry and party leader, also participates and reflects on the week in Dalarna Talks.
Three sessions are targeted at specific sectors and professions, while the others are open to all interested parties.
Christina Sjöberg is Dalarna Science Park's Head of Communications and one of those who shaped the program for the four days, together with various partners.
- "This year we are pleased to present the new KoKo, a 360 degree multimedia experience for young people, and Dalarna Startup Arena for business angels and entrepreneurs.
At the same time, Christina thinks it's important that there is space between the program items, so that exciting things can happen in the gaps.
- Who bumps into each other? Are they new or old acquaintances and what do they talk about? What ideas are raised and what collaborations might result? One tip for participating companies is to take the opportunity to book meetings in connection with exciting lectures, says Christina.
