Jamila Boccaccio, Ivana Radic and Moshira Hassan. These are the three winners of the Jagharenidé.nu innovation competition.
- These three smart women have presented ideas that solve socially important problems and also have international potential," says Brita Klingberg, business coach at Dalarna Science Park and chair of the competition jury.
Jagharenide.nu is organized by Dalarna Science Park in collaboration with Sparbanksstiftelsen Dalarna. The aim of the competition is to encourage entrepreneurship and innovative ideas.
- We need more innovative entrepreneurs who develop the business community in our county, says Kjell Grundström, Sparbanksstiftelsen Dalarna.
Jury President Brita Klingberg agrees.
- This is the case, and we also need a more gender-equal business sector, so it is particularly pleasing that all the prize winners happen to be women," she says.
Jagharenide.nu ran throughout February and resulted in almost forty entries from eleven of Dalarna's fifteen municipalities.
- We know that there are a lot of people walking around with good ideas and without this kind of competition they might never even come to light," says Brita.
Ideas that make a difference
Each idea submitted was assessed by the competition jury based on a number of criteria, such as the feasibility of the idea, its market potential and its alignment with the 2030 Agenda sustainability goals.
First prize goes to Jamila Boccaccio in Smedjebacken. She has created the subscription service "Food and company for the elderly", which is a combination of digital company at mealtimes and a portion box with well-prepared food.
Now Jamila gets the chance to further develop the idea in Dalarna Science Park's incubator to the value of SEK 50,000 and SEK 25,000 for start-up capital for a limited company.
- I work as a nurse and see a great need for the elderly to be part of a context, to be needed, to eat well and to enjoy the meal. This win gives me a huge opportunity to help take my idea forward. Our elderly deserve a better old age and I hope I can contribute to that," says Jamila.
Brita Klingberg is a great believer in Jamila's idea and looks forward to following her journey.
- It will be very exciting! Her idea and great commitment can make a real difference on several levels.
The second prize, a business development grant worth SEK 25 000, goes to Ivana Radic from Borlänge. Ivana wants to develop a wireless saturation meter that measures blood oxygenation and communicates with a device that automatically regulates the supply of oxygen to people being cared for at home, such as premature babies.
Third prize goes to Moshira Hassan from Borlänge, who receives business development support worth SEK 15,000. Moshira plans to develop an app that can make social services support to residents more accessible in the form of digital meetings with caseworkers or social workers.
