How you can use AI to support international business

Entering an international market presents both opportunities and challenges. In many cases, AI can help make the process smoother and more efficient, but it is only one of several tools that can be used. Patricia Eresjö, digitalization coach at Dalarna Science Park and Enterprise Europe Network, shares her experiences of how AI can help.

Reducing language barriers

With AI-based translation and language review tools, materials can be quickly adapted to different languages and audiences. This can facilitate communication and free up time, although the final language review should be done by a human.

Get an overview of regulations

AI can help provide an initial orientation on laws and regulations in different countries. This makes it easier to plan and prepare, but it is always good (and sometimes a must) if the information is confirmed by legal expertise.

Streamlining everyday processes

AI can support many of the small but time-consuming tasks that fill the workday. This can include sorting and structuring incoming information, summarizing long email threads, suggesting answers to frequently asked questions, or creating draft reports and presentations. By letting AI handle these tasks, more time can be freed up for tasks that require human judgment and creativity.

Managing information about markets and competitors

AI makes it possible to collect and process large amounts of data to get a faster picture of market trends and the competitive situation. The results can serve as a basis for decision-making, but as always, it is good to supplement them with reliable sources and assessments.

Put safety first

Paid AI services with clear security and privacy practices are preferable, especially when handling sensitive business data.

From language and regulations to market analysis and processes, AI can be a valuable addition to international ventures, but works best when combined with human skills and local knowledge.

"See AI as an aid to work, not as a replacement for human knowledge and experience. Used wisely, it can contribute to better decision-making and more efficient processes. "
