DalaCapital continues to invest in innovative companies that contribute to development in both the region and the business community. The company is now investing in Hair Hut AB to facilitate the development of a new digital salon platform for booking, sales, and AI-based services, with the goal of creating a shared infrastructure for the hair industry.
The platform aims to establish a shared infrastructure for the entire hair industry and is designed to make it easier for salons to manage bookings, customer relationships, and sales, while connecting suppliers and customers within a more cohesive ecosystem. By consolidating functions into a single digital solution, it becomes easier for both industry players and customers—from booking and payment to follow-up and repeat purchases. The goal is a smarter and more sustainable industry with better resource utilization and increased profitability.
HairHut AB is owned by Fatima Sarsar and Asmat Ullah. An initial version was developed in collaboration with Asmat’s development team in Pakistan. The next step is to further develop the platform, train AI models, and test the system in live environments at selected salons.
“We see a clear need for a comprehensive digital solution for the hair industry. With the right technology, we can simplify daily operations for salon owners while creating new value for both customers and suppliers. This investment will enable us to take the platform from its initial version to a fully functional and tested product,” says Fatima Sarsar, co-founder of Hair Hut AB.
The funding from DalaCapital will be used for continued platform development, AI training, and marketing ahead of a broader launch. The goal is to establish Hair Hut as a scalable SaaS solution for an industry that currently lacks a common digital infrastructure.
“Hair Hut is tackling a traditional industry with a modern, technology-driven approach. The team combines industry expertise with digital skills and has developed a working prototype. There is great potential to develop this into a scalable platform,” says Angelica Ekholm, Chair of DalaCapital and CEO of Dalarna Science Park.
Kjell Grundström, chairman of the Dalarna Savings Bank Foundation, emphasizes the importance of supporting new business models in the service sector.
“Investments in companies like Hair Hut help modernize and strengthen small and medium-sized businesses. Digital tools and AI can create better conditions for profitability and competitiveness, even in more traditional industries,” says Kjell Grundström.
