Dalarna is at the center of a development that will affect the future competitiveness of all of Sweden. Here, investments are being made in new AI infrastructure; here, the industry of the future is being developed; and here, new solutions for the green transition are emerging.
If we want the rest of Sweden to know about it, it’s not enough just to do the work. We also have to tell people about it. That’s why we’re going to Almedalen.
For a long time, Dalarna has been an integral part of Sweden’s development. Here, raw materials have been transformed into world-leading products. Here, industrial strength has built prosperity and competitiveness. Now we are facing the next major transformation, in which digitalization, artificial intelligence, and the transition to sustainability are creating new opportunities for growth.
That is why it is important for Dalarna to be seen and heard wherever national decisions, priorities, and issues for the future are discussed.
We're not going to Almedalen to talk about what we want to do. We're going there to show what's already happening.
In Dalarna, billions are being invested in new AI infrastructure. New collaborative environments for research, innovation, and sustainable transition are being built here. Solutions are being developed here in areas ranging from workforce development and circular material flows to the digital technologies of the future. These are issues that affect the future competitiveness of all of Sweden.
During Almedals Week, for the fifth year in a row, we are bringing together businesses, decision-makers, researchers, and societal stakeholders to discuss some of the issues that will be crucial to Sweden’s development in the coming years.
We’ll begin with a roundtable discussion on Swedish wool and how policy decisions can help transform an untapped resource into business opportunities and sustainable growth. Next, the focus will be on AI through Dalarna Talks, where we’ll explore how Sweden’s AI strategy can move from ambition to implementation. In a subsequent roundtable discussion, we’ll bring together stakeholders from the business community, academia, and the public sector to discuss the role Dalarna can play in Sweden’s development as a leading AI nation.
We are also participating in discussions with In Dalarna about the future of industry and the supply of skilled labor, as well as about how circular packaging chains can be developed in practice to meet both climate goals and market demands.
What all these issues have in common is that they revolve around the same thing: turning ideas, strategies, and investments into tangible change.
Dalarna has undergone major transformations in the past. We’ve transitioned from raw materials to advanced industry. Now we have the opportunity to help shape the next phase of Sweden’s development, so we must also be present where these developments are being discussed.
