Internationalization is a very broad concept. For us, it's partly about taking Dalarna out into the world, and partly about bringing the world to Dalarna. We do this in many different ways. We support small and medium-sized enterprises in matters relating to export and import opportunities, and through our networks and the development we carry out, we can contribute with international contacts and an international context.
Dalarna's small and medium-sized enterprises are well placed to expand into the world, but they need inspiration and support. This is the opinion of a majority of respondents in our latest innovation panel. 75% of respondents believe that increased internationalization always generates regional growth. At the same time, over 70% of respondents believe that a lack of international contacts, networks and knowledge of how to do it are the main reasons why more companies in Dalarna do not invest internationally. Half of those surveyed would like to see more regional knowledge-enhancing initiatives, such as seminars on the theme of internationalization. Almost 20 percent would also like to see more international conferences in the county. "It is extremely positive that so many people see opportunities in internationalization. And as the innovation arena for the whole of Dalarna, Dalarna Science Park naturally wants to continue to help more companies in the region to take the step out into the world.
In addition to the internationalization support we already offer, we will now - based on the wishes of the innovation panel - explore how we can create more knowledge enhancement and networking activities. To make sure you don't miss out, subscribe to our newsletter and follow us on social media!
The global situation is one of the most important issues of the moment, with a pandemic that is not yet over, wars in our midst, rising energy prices and a world economy in turmoil. Of course, international relations are affected. But there is confidence in the future and a need for development, and our companies need to grow in existing and new markets. Representatives from Clas Ohlson, Gustafs Scandinavia and Optopro participated in our latest breakfast seminar Dalarna Talks. We learned how the three companies see the future of international trade and how they are tackling today's macroeconomic challenges.
