Welcome to an exciting fall - here we go!

I really like fall and the feeling of a fresh start. A time of year when you get to add new meetings to your calendar, formalize ideas that came to you during the summer, think about goals and plan together with colleagues.

We hope that you are also excited about an exciting fall together with us at Dalarna Science Park. As usual, we offer a full program of workshops, lectures, events and surprises, both on site and online. Of all these, I would like to make a special mention of the new Dalarna Innovation Days on October 17-20, which includes around twenty events at three locations in Dalarna. We are organizing the days in close collaboration with Sparbanksstiftelsen Dalarna, Clas Ohlson Foundation, Business News Dalarna, Dalarnas energibolag and Dalarna University.

Among the participants are "battery queen" Christina Lampe Önnerud, futurologist Tobias Degsell and researchers from Dalarna University. We hope that many people will participate in Dalarna Innovation Days and learn new things, make fruitful contacts and start collaborations that allow us to jointly strengthen the power of innovation in Dalarna. It is needed! Dalarna is experiencing expansive growth, with companies making a strong contribution to the green transition. At the same time, we face a number of challenges that we must solve. Dalarna's energy company has identified this and invites you to an afternoon during Dalarna Innovation Days to discuss the very question of how to do it - because we need to do it together.

We at Dalarna Science Park always have Dalarna's challenges in focus and now during the fall we will start the establishment of an industrial accelerator where new products will be created from identified residual products, an innovative activity with the goal of attracting both national and international startups to Dalarna. Startups that have ideas on how we can circulate the waste from our manufacturing industry.

We have recruited a strong trio to the accelerator: Cecilia Carter, who has 30 years of experience in the forest industry, Erik Tosterud from Drivhuset in Uppsala and Maria Edling Hansson, who has previously held roles such as environmental manager. A more detailed presentation of the industry accelerator and our new recruits will come in the fall.

Another new addition to Dalarna Science Park is the former Ikea manager Johan Nestor, who with his expertise will now be a resource for Dalarna's companies with the task of making them even more innovative and sustainable.

In the newsletter, you can find out more about what's happening this fall. And don't forget to follow us on social media.

See you soon!
