Then you are not alone. The people of Dalarna clearly see what needs to happen and how to get there. They want more innovation, more collaboration, more action. This is shown by the results of our latest innovation panel, where over 1100 people shared their thoughts on the future. The picture is clear: we face challenges, but we are also full of solutions.

It is gratifying that Sweden has regained the title of the EU's most innovative country, and North Central Sweden, which is our own home, has now moved up into the Strong Innovator category. This is proof that our efforts are bearing fruit. Since 2018, North Middle Sweden's innovation index has risen by a full 16 points, of which 7 in the last two years alone.

But perhaps most gratifying is that we in North Middle Sweden are in first place in the whole of the EU when it comes to getting small and medium-sized enterprises to cooperate, with each other and with other actors. This is an important parameter for innovative development. It is a golden opportunity. Because when businesses link arms with each other, with the public sector, academia and civil society, innovation is born that makes a real difference, in healthcare, in industry and in the energy transition. This is exactly what 38% of our panelists point to as crucial for us to become more innovative.

And this is where we at Dalarna Science Park come in. Our mission is to create the meeting places, networks and collaborations that turn ideas into action. To ensure that 79 percent of the people of Dalarna, who already agree that innovative power is crucial to success as an entrepreneur, are also given the tools and arenas to turn that insight into reality.
