Western Sweden and south-eastern Norway are home to vast natural resources in the form of forests. For a long time, the forest has been used to produce products such as paper, packaging, fuel, furniture and houses. As a result, the area is now very prominent in the forest bioeconomy, with both world-leading industries and new innovative companies operating here. There is also a unique environment with several prominent research institutions, test beds and knowledge clusters that, together with the business community, continue to lead both innovation and development forward.
The Circular Bioeconomy Arena will continue to develop the forest bioeconomy within the regions and across the border and to increase the pace of innovation towards set climate goals. The project is carried out in collaboration between actors on the Swedish and Norwegian sides.
Dalarna Science Park is responsible for the work package Circular Solutions in Forest Bioeconomy.
