More export-ready companies strengthen Dalarna's competitiveness
Exports are one of Dalarna’s most important drivers of growth. More than one-third of the county’s gross regional product is generated by export-related activities, and companies that export are often more innovative, competitive, and resilient over time. The “Strengthened Export Capacity” project aims to help more small and medium-sized enterprises in Dalarna take the leap into international markets and develop sustainable export businesses.
The project further develops and coordinates the regional export promotion system through Exportarena Dalarna, where public and private sector actors work together to offer knowledge, networks, advice, and guidance to companies with international ambitions. The goal is to create a clear, accessible, and well-known export promotion system that endures over time and makes it easier for companies to find the right support.
Through workshops, seminars, analyses, company visits, networking, and capacity-building initiatives, the project strengthens companies’ ability to identify new markets, reduce risks, and generate long-term growth through exports. At the same time, the project contributes to increased collaboration among regional stakeholders and ensures that export and internationalization issues play a more prominent role in Dalarna’s development.

Project partners: Dalarna Science Park (Enterprise Europe Network) and Almi.
Collaboration Platform: Exportarena Dalarna, together with organizations such as Business Sweden, the Central Swedish Chamber of Commerce, and EKN.
