Dalarna Innovation Days

Dalarna Innovation Days is an annual event with the aim of promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, and increasing knowledge about sustainability. These are days where we offer seminars, discussions about the future, interesting conversations, workshops, and many opportunities to meet new people who can make a difference.

This year's edition will take place October 19-23. The program will be presented and registration will open during the summer of 2026.

Dalarna Innovation Days 2025

Dalarna Innovation Days was held in October for the third consecutive year. During four intensive days, with activities in six locations across the county, a total of 26 program items were presented. Nearly 2,000 participants registered, including entrepreneurs, researchers, students, business owners, and decision-makers from across the region. Together, they created meeting places where new conversations, contacts, and opportunities arose and where Dalarna's growing role in the national innovation landscape became clear.

The tour through the county, from Borlänge to Falun, Rättvik, Mora, Ludvika, and Hedemora, demonstrated the power that arises when people come together across industry boundaries and perspectives.

The week also highlighted the region's potential in the bioeconomy of the future. The activities"From food waste to food gain"and "Swedish wool – from forgotten by-product to resource of the future"illustrated how local initiatives can be linked to global challenges. The focus was not only on technology, but also on sustainability and innovative resource utilization
, areas in which Dalarna demonstrated both ambition and the ability to take the lead.

This year's edition was the biggest yet, with a record number of participants and great involvement in all parts of the county.

Dalarna Startup Arena

On October 21, at Dalarna Innovation Days, Dalarna Science Park will be filled with entrepreneurs, investors, and optimism for the future when it's time for Dalarna Startup Arena. A day where solutions to major societal challenges took center stage—and met with capital, contacts, and new opportunities.

Eight selected startups from central Sweden pitched business ideas ranging from advanced AI solutions and non-toxic bio-paints to smart energy storage and protective equipment for soccer players. With an engaged jury, concrete cases, and a packed room, conversations were sparked that looked to the future—with a focus on innovation, relationships, and future business. The day once again demonstrated the power of bringing together people and ideas that want to make a difference.
