Dalarna Innovation Days Challenge
Do you have an idea that could improve tomorrow's food?
We are looking for innovative ideas that make the most of food waste, strengthen our preparedness for crises and adapt the food system to a changing climate. Dalarna Innovation Days Challenge is an idea competition where you can win a SEK 15,000 grant and get professional support to develop your idea further.
The competition runs between October 21 and November 16, 2025.
Dalarna Innovation Days Challenge is an idea competition organized by Dalarna Science Park in collaboration with Campus Grythyttan (RHS at Örebro University) and Sparbanken Nya and Sparbankstiftelsen Dalarna. The aim of the competition is to find smart developments, products and ideas that can create the food of tomorrow.

Creating food for the future with a focus on sustainability attracted many participants to this year's Dalarna Innovation Days Challenge idea competition. From all the entries from Dalarna and Örebro counties, the jury has now selected three winners with ideas that can make a difference to both the environment and people's everyday lives.

How the jury will assess your idea
How innovative is the idea?
Assessment according to the degree of innovation of the idea. Is the product, service or methodology something new that does not exist today? Is the idea a further development of something existing? Is there a new approach?
What value does the product or service create?
Assessment of the value and benefit a customer/user/patient can get from the product or service to improve the care and health of people. How does the idea create benefits for the user/customer? Does the idea meet the current or future needs of the community?
Is there potential for the idea to grow?
Assessment of whether there is potential for the product or service to grow in the market.
How sustainable is the idea?
Assessing how well the idea takes responsibility for its impact on society from a social, economic or environmental perspective; how the idea meets people's needs today without jeopardizing the opportunities of future generations. Find out more and get inspired here.

When does the competition take place?
The competition ran from October 21 to November 16, 2025.
Who can compete?
The competition is open to both private individuals and companies. To compete, you must be 18 years of age or older and live and work in Dalarna and the surrounding area orstudy or have previously studied at Campus Grythyttan.
How do I submit my idea?
By filling in and submitting the competition form. The 2025 edition of the Dalarna Innovation Days Challenge has ended.
Is there any risk of someone stealing my idea?
No, you don't. Your idea is safe with us. The people handling and assessing your idea are bound by confidentiality agreements.
What happens after I submit my contribution?
All competition entries are assessed by the jury, which works under confidentiality. Once the process is complete, all contestants will be contacted. The winners will be announced in Decemberember 2025.
Can I submit multiple entries?
All contestants may submit one or more entries.
What is my chance to win?
Three winners will be awarded prizes for the best ideas.
First prize: 25 hours abusiness development support and aa scholarship of 15 000 kronor to be used to develop your idea.
Second prize:20 hoursof business development support and a scholarship of SEK 5,000 to be used to develop your idea.
Third prize: 15 hours abusiness development support.
The profit shall start from the moment of the presentation of the winning entry and up to 6 months afterwards.
What does it take to win the competition?
The idea is assessed according to the evaluation criteria. You can find them above.
Will the competition entry be shown to others?
The information you provide us with will be processed in accordance with the instructions on the form. If you win, your idea may be publicized through digital channels and news media. Everything will be done in consultation with you.
