Dalarna's own Dragon's Nest

On October 22, business angels, investors and startups from all over central Sweden will gather at Dalarna Science Park. On stage are young companies with scalable business ideas. In the audience are investors looking for the next breakthrough. Here, new collaborations are born, investments take shape and the next step in the transition can begin.

The morning is dedicated to startups and investors, while the afternoon is open to anyone interested in new solutions and how business ideas can be part of the solution to our societal challenges.

Capital is the key to transition

- To succeed in the green and digital transitions, we need more than good ideas. Startups play a crucial role, but they need capital, knowledge and connections to scale. That's why arenas like this one are so important, where ideas with potential meet investors who want to be part of the solution," says Victoria Ställberg, head of the incubator at Dalarna Science Park.

Dalarna Startup Arena provides a concrete platform where companies with scalable solutions can showcase themselves to experienced business angels and investor networks, both locally and nationally.

Eight companies, eight opportunities

In this year's pitch block, we will meet eight startups with high ambitions, smart solutions and different business areas, from AI and energy to sustainable materials and time efficiency. Several are already in active funding rounds, others are seeking pilot customers and industrial partnerships.

Here are the companies pitching:

  • DAJE Prevent - protective equipment for football players
  • Svepreg - mobile timber measurement with AI
  • DynamicTime - automatic time reporting
  • CADcog - AI/XR for user testing
  • Solask Energy - smart energy storage
  • Scailab - synthetic data for robot development
  • Alder Olmai - non-toxic bio paint from the forest
  • Carthago Fragrance - exclusive, sustainable aromas

Sharp investor panel with long experience

What are investors looking for? What determines whether a company gets capital or not? The pitches will be analyzed live by a knowledgeable panel with deep insight into the startup world:

Here is our expert panel:

  • Karin O'Connor, Dragon's Nest & Dragon Podcast
  • Filip Reineby, Drakpodden
  • Anna Blomdell, RadCap Ventures
  • Dimitri Haid, Clas Ohlson Foundation

With sharp questions, experience-based insights and an eye for potential, they guide both companies and audiences through the day.

New Tech & 33 list with future tech in focus

The afternoon program starts with Ny Teknik's 33 list live, where three companies from Sweden's most prestigious list for young technology companies share their experiences.

GreenIron, Helios Innovations and Findity will talk about the journey from startup to scaleup, attracting capital, managing growth and building long-term partnerships. A subsequent panel of investors and industry partners will discuss how best to create real value through collaboration.

Drakpodden live

As an energetic conclusion, Drakpodden invites you to a live recording from the stage in Borlänge. Karin O'Connor (known from Draknästet) and Filip Reineby (pitch coach and rhetoric expert) talk entrepreneurship, mistakes, successes and what happens behind the scenes when ideas meet investors.
