Green Dent receives seed capital from DalaCapital to reduce plastic in healthcare

Eitan Frankental

DalaCapital AB, a wholly owned subsidiary of Dalarna Science Park, continues its investment in innovative early-stage companies. The latest investment is in Green Dent AB, a company with a clear focus on sustainability and the goal of reducing plastic in healthcare.

Green Dent develops smart and environmentally friendly products that aim to reduce CO₂ emissions, reduce plastic use in healthcare and thus contribute to a more sustainable future. Their innovations are expected to have a particularly strong impact in the dental sector, where single-use plastic items have long been the norm.

With the support of DalaCapital, new doors are opening.

- There are exciting times ahead for us at Green Dent. Through DalaCapital's investment, we can take a decisive step towards eliminating plastic in healthcare," says Eitan Frankental, Chairman of the Board of Green Dent.

The company, which has long been working on ideas for more sustainable materials, now sees the opportunity to launch several products that were previously in the idea stage.

- "It feels incredibly exciting to finally, with the help of DalaCapital, be able to launch several of our ideas about replacing plastic in healthcare," says Ted Hartman, CEO of Green Dent.

DalaCapital's capital comes from LF Dalarnas, Sparbanksstiftelsen Dalarna and Region Dalarna. The aim is to support innovative entrepreneurs in the region who work for sustainable growth throughout Dalarna.

- Green Dent is a good example of a company that combines innovation with clear climate benefits. "We know that the healthcare sector accounts for a significant part of society's plastic waste. There is a great benefit in replacing materials with sustainable and recyclable alternatives," says Angelica Ekholm, Chairman of DalaCapital and CEO of Dalarna Science Park.

Birgitta Sacrédeus, Regional Councillor and Chair of the Regional Development Board, stresses the importance of the investment:

- This feels like a natural investment for us. Innovations like Green Dent show how sustainable innovation in healthcare can contribute to both local and global change. Their work is fully in line with Region Dalarna's goal of reducing the climate impact of consumables," says Birgitta Sacrédeus, Regional Councillor and Chair of the Regional Development Committee.
