Editorial Newsletter #8 2024
Welcome back to an exciting and packed Dala fall. We have so many interesting things to look forward to. Our calendar is already full of events, initiatives and activities that aim to consolidate Dalarna's position as Sweden's next growth region. This fall's program can really put Dalarna on the map of places that help drive development. Both in Sweden and internationally.
The fact that we work to describe the development that is taking place in Dalarna actually makes the outside world reflect. One example is in the podcast "Momentum" by Kjell A. Nordström and Per Schlingmann, where the CEO of the Swedish Savings Banks Association, Björn Elfstrand, highlights Dalarna's potential as Sweden's next growth region. He also talks about how the successes and Dalarna's ability to constantly innovate is a crucial factor for development. "This shows that our efforts are bearing fruit - but to continue this positive development, we need to keep the innovation work going. And that is exactly what we are doing. You can find the link further down the page.
This fall, many different activities will take place focusing on both innovation, green transition and sustainable business development. Our newly launched Circular Industry Accelerator is finalizing its first completed matching. The industry's need for utilization of residual streams is matched with entrepreneurs who can solve the industry's challenges. This is an effort that strengthens Dalarna's position as an enabler of the green transition. In parallel, Dalarna Science Park's incubator, Dalarna's only incubator, celebrates 20 years in December. It will also be recognized both in, and outside, our county.
The absolute highlight of the fall will be the 2024 Dalarna Innovation Days, October 22-25. It is a perfect opportunity for business, academia and the public sector to contribute to, and shape, Dalarna's future together. It will be four days packed with seminars, debates and meetings with participants from all over Dalarna and speakers from all over the country. New this year is the Dalarna Start-up Arena, where companies from Dalarna will be able to pitch their ideas to a panel of renowned investors such as Karin O'Connor - known from Draknästet. This year, we will also engage our young people who, in connection with Dalarna Innovation Days, will have the opportunity to participate in Koko, a 360-degree multimedia performance where we find out their views on the future. We will also have exciting lecturers such as Fredrik Reinfeld and Göran Adlen during Thursday's Dalarna Day. The program is packed and registration for Dalarna Innovation Days is already taking place so secure a place for you and your colleagues.
But before October, we will also participate in a business forum in Vansbro, an export day in Idre, implement Sustainable Tomorrow, spread knowledge about how we invest in future solutions for those who want to help shape the entrepreneurial landscape of the future. To summarize all our insights, the autumn will also offer two occasions with Dalarna-Talks.
We have a very interesting fall ahead of us. Last summer, we took Dalarna to the decision-makers and opinion leaders in Almedalen. One of our goals this fall is to bring national decision-makers and opinion leaders to Dalarna. Join us on our exciting journey towards continued regional growth!
