DalaCapital AB, a wholly owned subsidiary of Dalarna Science Park, invests in early-stage companies through so-called seed capital. The investments are made with the aim of supporting the regional business community and contributing to sustainable development and growth throughout Dalarna. Recently, DalaCapital decided to invest in the company Reppa AB from Falun. Reppa is developing a business model where they rent out tools through cabinets placed in malls, shops and offices.

- We are proud to have received capital to further develop our vision of sustainable tool rental. With our smart cabinet system, we can offer an environmentally friendly and efficient solution for private individuals and companies in Falun. Together with DalaCapital, we can reduce our ecological footprint and promote a circular economy, says Anders Östlund, CEO of Reppa.

DalaCapital AB is a wholly owned subsidiary of Dalarna Science Park and aims to contribute to richer entrepreneurship and sustainable development and growth in Dalarna through investments in start-up, innovative companies. The companies that DalaCapital invests in must be based in Dalarna and be in an early phase and be able to demonstrate great potential. The investment in Reppa is DalaCapital's ninth since its inception in January 2021.

- "Reppa's business model is based on the circular economy, which attracts environmentally conscious customers. The sustainability of the concept is a great strength and has already been demonstrated in collaborations with suppliers, public actors, investors, premises owners and consumers," says Angelica Ekholm, Chair of DalaCapital and CEO of Dalarna Science Park.

DalaCapital's investment capital comes from Sparbanksstiftelsen Dalarna, Dalarnas Försäkringsbolag and Region Dalarna.

- The tool rental market is growing thanks to the sustainability trend. More people are realizing that renting instead of buying is good for both the environment and the economy. Reppa's tool cabinets in popular locations are similar to Instabox and offer several advantages, such as increased accessibility, visibility and reduced risk of theft," says Kjell Grundström, Chairman of Sparbanksstiftelsen Dalarna.
