Launch of new companies in the Circular Industry Accelerator

Three employees from Dalarna Science Park Sustainability developer Maria Maria Edling Hansson, project manager Carolina Friberg and business developer Ulrika Ebenhard welcome four new accelerator companies into Dalarna Science Park's Circular Industry Accelerator.

Now a new round of companies has entered Dalarna Science Park's Circular Industry Accelerator. The kick-off on March 25 marked the starting point for a joint effort where Dalarna's industries meet innovative companies. The focus is on utilizing the industry's residual flows.

It is fantastic that we can now launch our second round of the program, and the new accelerator companies really show the breadth, says Carolina Friberg, project manager at Dalarna Science Park.

From the first meeting to a shared vision

The day began with a focus on getting to know one another. Representatives from the industry and the participating companies presented their businesses, challenges, and expectations for the accelerator.

The discussions ranged from concrete solutions to broader questions about the transition—from how ideas can be scaled up to how partnerships are formed and how obstacles such as regulations and financing can be addressed. One theme kept coming up: the importance of transparency and knowledge sharing.

This is a win-win for both us and the startups. That's why we try to be clear about what we can offer and what we expect in return. That's the basis for a good collaboration, said Erik Grånäs from SSAB.

For many of the accelerator companies, the next step is to find the right partners to test, develop, and scale their solutions.

We need to find the right partners who can help us overcome the obstacles we face and scale up our business, said Elof Winroth from Nordluft Automation AB.

We need help testing and validating our solutions, it is difficult to do it on our own, said Mattias Ringström at ELE Forsa.

Next step: from idea to action

The kick-off is just the beginning. Throughout the year, we will continue to work on deepening partnerships, business development, and pilot tests—as well as a joint Circular Demo Day later this year where these partnerships will be presented.

The goal is to establish long-term partnerships that will continue even after the program ends.

“Harnessing residual flows is no longer just an environmental measure, but also a matter of competitiveness and secure access to resources. It’s inspiring to see our participating companies taking the lead in the circular economy,” says Ulrika Ebenhard, business coach.

Dalarna Science Park acts as a neutral party that promotes collaboration among companies. Through the program, participants gain access to expertise in sustainability, circularity, and innovation management, receive support with financing issues, and have the opportunity to gain visibility in relevant channels.
